The Culturally Responsive Teaching Institute is a full-day professional development symposium focusing on building and maintaining working relationships with the home, school, community, and church. Educators and practitioners acquire knowledge that strengthens their capacity to self-reflect, overcome stereotype threat, examine microaggressions, unconscious bias, power, privilege and the impact it has on educating our students. Participants learn how to meet students where they are, develop strategies and techniques that enhance the teaching and learning process, and create a plan of action to fully implement culturally responsive teaching. Lunch and snacks are provided, and a certificate of completion verifies 7 hours of training in culturally responsive teaching. For more information contact Dr. Shonta Smith (314) 454-1149 or If paying by district/school check please carefully review the following requirements: We do not accept purchase orders for payment. But we will assist you with an invoice to submit to your administration or purchasing department so that they can generate a check on your behalf. Payment in full of registration fee must be received no later than 1 week prior to the event start date if paying by district/school check. No request for invoicing for a purchase order will be accepted after Monday September 30, 2019. But you may submit payment by credit card up until Thursday October 3, 2019, if seats are still available. Because initiating the purchase order process in your district's business office takes time, we suggest you begin the process early. Your seat in the conference will not be reserved until payment in full is received. Paid registration will immediately reserve your seat, if there are still available seats.
