This is the third and final lecture in the series and it includes Cakes from 1900 - 1950 Spend time learning how time, events, technology & political maneuvering influenced cakes, our most favorite of desserts. How two World Wars, The Depression, The Spanish Flu, Electricity and more affected the recipes and ingredients. Find out how the Poison Squad helped to launch the USDA. After a short lecture - you will get a chance to sample several of the cakes from the era - including: Pineapple Upside-Down, Brooklyn Blackout, Wacky Cake and Hot Milk Cake with Lemon Filling. Ages 18 and older. $15 per person
