The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) has created a three dimensional sky map of a million galaxies and quasars. It uses a new telescope at Apache Point Observatory near Alamagordo, New Mexico to map in great detail. Mr. Bartoszek will discuss the Survey and explain how data from SDSS has provided insights into dark matter and dark energy, as well as visible galaxies and quasars. All of the SDSS data is available on the web, for use by amateur and professional astronomers and the general public. Cosponsored by St. Louis Astronomical Society and NASA MO Space Grant Consortium at Washington U.
